Babymoon!

Jeff and I embarked on our 'babymoon' in April, following the guidance of both our doctor and many friends who have recently had babies.  We love to travel and obviously recognize that it might get a little more complicated after Baby Savage arrives.  So, we jumped on the opportunity and scheduled a vacation!  (what a great excuse to get out of rainy Ohio!)  It turned out to be the most relaxing vacation of our lives.

babymoon
n.
Term used to describe a vacation taken by a couple that is expecting a baby in order to allow the couple to enjoy a final trip together before the many sleepless nights that usually accompany a newborn baby. Babymoons usually take place at a resort that offers appropriate services like prenatal massage.

We found a great deal on a 7-night cruise in the Easter Carribbean!  Here was the itinerary:

April 23 - Arrive in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Beach time & boardwalk!
April 24 - Depart on the Ruby Princess from Fort Lauderdale, FL (Happy Easter!)
April 25 - Princess Cays, Bahamas
April 26 - Day at Sea
April 27 - St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles
April 28 - St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
April 29 - Grand Turk, Caicos Islands
April 30 - Day at Sea
May 1 - Return to Fort Lauderdale & flight home.  (boo!)

I've included a few pictures from the trip below.  Enjoy!
-----------------------------

Gorgeous view from our balcony at the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Hilton.  We stayed on the top floor!
Soaking up some morning sun at Ft. Lauderdale beach before heading over to the cruise terminal.
Showing off the 21 week baby bump!
(it's funny - I felt HUGE then, but now I look back and think, 'gheez, I was barely showing!')
It's crazy how quickly your body changes during pregnancy.
Here is the Ruby Princess - our home-away-from-home that week.
It's one of the newer ships in the Princess fleet and we highly recommend it!
Bon voyage, Ft. Lauderdale!
Jeff went 'shore fishing' at Princess Cays and was one of the few people to actually catch something (other than a sunburn)!
Although, do you see what he caught?  ...he later used it for bait.
We bought an underwater camera for the trip!
On our way to Emerald Beach in St. Thomas.  It turned out to be one of our favorite days of the trip!
Jeff is certainly enjoying himself at Sunset Beach in St. Maarten.
Another reason to go to Sunset Beach... how crazy is this?!?!  That's a 737 skimming Jeff's head.
Post-snorkeling picture in Grand Turk.
Another baby-bump picture in Grand Turk.
A message to the baby!
See, we were thinking about the baby on vacation - a LOT!
Here's to many more vacations as a family in the future!

Stay tuned...
More baby updates coming soon!
