30 Week Update: Office = Nursery

So, where does one put a baby's room in our little house?  The office, of course!  Well, let me re-phrase that.  The office and it's contents have been banished to the basement (currently a disaster area, enter at your own risk), and the baby's furniture and belonings are slowly being moved in upstairs!  I will post some before & after pictures once complete.  It should be fairly dramatic!

So, what's changing you ask?

1. Furniture
The baby's crib and changing table were generously given to us by Chris & Erica when they moved to Florida last year.  It's a beautiful, solid wood set which has an espresso finish.  It looks like it's practically brand new, and we are very thankful to have it.  See the picture below from the manufacturer's website - isn't it gorgeous?  We do not have the bookcase attachment on top of the changing table as shown, but may consider buying it someday when Baby Savage gets older.

2. Paint
We also bought the paint for the nursery last week, and are in the process of trimming/painting!  The color swatch is below.  We thought it was a very calming shade of blue and should hopefully tie in nicely with our crib bedding and decor.
3. Chair
The rocker/glider has been ordered (see last week's post for details) and should arrive in August!  Let's hope it arrives before the baby does... fingers crossed!

4. Curtains/Blinds
Hmmm... not sure on this front yet.  I'm thinking that some 1" faux-wood blinds with room-darkening curtains would be nice.  Afterall, Baby Savage needs his beauty sleep!  I'm envisioning a darker shade of blue or tan for the curtains.

More updates & belly bump pictures coming soon!
